There are many benefits that come from talking about dying before your final days.  

One of the most helpful is understanding how to ensure the choices made about your final chapter of life are yours.

Join the team from Worry-Free Wednesdays to learn the things you can do to ensure the end-of-life decisions you want made for yourself or your loved ones are well documented and communicated.  They’ll show you how to build an end-of-life plan and then how to share it and update it once a year on a Wednesday of your choosing, living worry-free knowing your “house is in order” before you die.

Consultants will discuss topics associated with:

• A Living Will, including your Healthcare Directives and a Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care
• Living and Dying with Dementia
• The need for a Last Will and Testament
• New “greener” options for disposition
• They will also offer ideas and tools you can use to have conversations with family, friends and your community about your dying wishes, celebration of life and the legacy you want to leave. 

This initial program will be helpful for anyone at any stage of life – it’s NEVER TOO EARLY to think about what you’d like when the time comes. It’s also a GIFT that you can give the loved ones in your life – the ability for them to KNOW where you stand.

This FREE program will also be accompanied by another workshop later in the fall (Key Class – there is a classroom fee) that you can sign up for that will help you ACTUALLY fill out the paperwork you need as well as be able to be NOTARIZED as a working official document.

Kay Longhi

I have spent 25 years in and around the end-of-life-movement.   I held a long career in health care management, seeing many sides of the healthcare system.  I have also served on the board of End of Life Washington for 22 years and am still a volunteer with the organization. In my personal life, I have been a caretaker and end-of-life guide for several family members who have passed. Drawing from both my professional and practical experience, I now coach others on the value of pre-planning before a healthcare crisis.  I believe strongly that helping individuals understand how to die on their terms, provides enormous comfort during what can be a difficult time. 

Wendy Norman

I have been researching and engaging with end-of-life issues for over 15 years. My interest was sparked by my mother’s diagnosis of early-onset Alzheimer’s in 2006.  This is when I learned how important it is to have a plan before becoming ill, especially when cognitive decline is involved.   Wanting to help others understand the value of pre-planning, I became an end-of-life planning consultant in 2017.  In 2019, I left a 25-year career in marketing and program management to invest my time and energy toward end-of-life planning, education and awareness. In 2020 I helped create and lead the team of volunteers to launch an education and awareness program called End of Life Ready hosted by End of Life Washington.  Building on that experience, Worry-Free Wednesdays was created to broaden and deepen end-of-life education.

This is a FALL COMMUNITY EVENT and is part of our Key Community programming. This event is FREE to attend. Registration is NOT required for this event, but our classroom space tops out at about 25 participants – so please make sure to be here on time to find a spot!
