Description:
Financial Literacy is more than understanding the concepts behind unfamiliar terms. It’s about understanding your relationship with money, exploring the factors that formed the relationship, and how that relationship influences your financials decisions.Financial decisions are based on our emotions, our financial knowledge, and our money-related habits ingrained over the years. By understanding these factors along with a broad understanding of financial concepts and terminology you increase your confidence and ability to navigate your personal finances, set solid financial goals, and create a plan to reach them.
BIO: As a newly certified Financial Literacy instructor Catherine Cochrane brings a diverse background to the financial literacy arena. Her appreciation for the magic of numbers is the thread that circuitously wraps around each career step: bookkeeper, high school math teacher, financial applications consultant, M&A integration manager, support operations director. As she embarks on retirement the thread is pulling her back to her first love – teaching…and her new love – women’s empowerment.
